Kitchen Assistant- Camp Nazareth, Seasonal

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Education/Experience

1. Must be at least 16 years of age previous kitchen experience preferred

2. Ability to work well with others in a team setting

4. Ability to maintain professional boundaries with campers and staff at all times

5. Employment is contingent upon approval from NYS Health Department which includes notification from NYSDSS Central Register of Abuse and Maltreatment that the Kitchen Assistant has not been subject of an investigation report, free of communicable diseases, and any other regulatory governmental entities requirements.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

*Assist in carrying out all kitchen activities*

  • Assists in all meal preparation for breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. Includes:

§ Menu preparation

  • Assisting in maintaining sanitary kitchen and dining hall including:

§ Garbage disposal

Assistant Cook- Camp Nazareth, Seasonal

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Education/Experience

Food Service Director- Camp Nazareth, Seasonal

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Education/Experience

1. Must be at least 21 years of age with minimum three years food preparation experience and staff supervision.

2. Knowledge of and experience in food service: ordering, inventory, budgeting, food preparation, family style serving, buffet serving, cleaning, and institutional kitchen equipment.

3. Ability to work within a budget and purchase supplies effectively.

4. Experience in supervising effectively.

5. Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing fewer than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.

§ Menu preparation

§ Review any special dietary restrictions as stated in campers registration/medical paperwork

§ Ensure safe and efficient preparation and serving of camp meals

§ Maintaining food/milk inventory

§ Place food orders, maintain records and financial budgets to meet needed food inventory. Interact with suppliers/venders as needed

§ Developing staff duty lists and time schedules

  • Maintain sanitary kitchen and dining hall including:

§ Maintain and check food preparation equipment for cleanliness and safety

§ Sanitizing all kitchen equipment/Maintaining garbage disposal

§ Maintain refrigeration at proper temperature

§ Supervision and participation in completion of sweeping and mopping of kitchen and dining hall after evening meal or at any times which it warrants completion

  • Supervise kitchen staff

  • Receive and check all deliveries against invoice

  • Return all invoices to Camp Director within 24 hours of receipt

  • Lock kitchen after evening meal

  • Prepare special event food, as requested by Camp director

  • Inform Director of any situations jeopardizing the health/safety of staff/campers

Camp Counselor- Camp Nazareth, Seasonal

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education/Experience

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age with experience in camping and supervision of children. (up to 20% of staff can be 17 years of age)

  2. Ability to work well with other in a team setting.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

*Responsible for immediate supervision of children, provide leadership and guidance to all campers*

  • Insure maximum safety for all campers

  • Interpret camp safety and health regulations to campers

  • Supervise cabin/bunker behavior and housekeeping

  • Coordinate and lead cabin/bunker activities

  • Act as host/hostess in dining hall

  • Maintain daily log book

  • Escort campers to and from all daily activities

  • Provide supervision during daily programs

  • Assist Lead Counselor in activity planning

  • Assist in Sunday registration

  • Complete cabin/bunker clean-up and preparation for Sunday arrivals before departure on Friday evenings.

  • Inform Assistant Camp Director of any situations jeopardizing the health/safety of staff/campers

Maintenance Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education / Experience

  1. A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

  2. Successful completion of appropriate training in plumbing, electrical and/or carpentry skills.

  3. A minimum of five to seven years of related maintenance experience, with a minimum of three years supervisory experience.

 

  • Skills

  1. Good interpersonal abilities.

  2. Ability to work successfully with limited supervision.

  3. Cost estimating, maintenance planning, purchasing and organization talents.

  4. Analytical judgment of renovation projects.

  5. Ability to analyze work orders, prioritize complexity of workload and assure quality performance, which may include devising own methods to achieve satisfactory results, with no margin for error.

  6. Ability to develop and supervise a successful team of maintenance staff.

  7. Working knowledge of OSHA standards regarding housekeeping and work controls.

  • Other

  1. Possess a valid drivers license.

  2. Provide own tools.

 

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

  • Administrative

  1. Required to follow all Agency policies and procedures, using the Policy and Procedures manual as a reference.

  2. Required to understand and abide by those laws, regulations, policies and procedures that are applicable to the program/service, which you are providing.

  3. Required to report any known or suspected violation of laws, regulations, policies and procedures related to programs/services of the agency.

  4. Required to maintain accurate statistical records and files on program participants and activities, including but not limited to: individual client records, billing records, medication records, daily log, expense sheets, purchase orders, petty cash, client funds, mileage records, and menus.

  5. Required to ensure that all employees are aware of and abide by those laws, regulations, policies and procedures that are applicable to the program/service, which you are providing.

  6. Receive reports of known or suspected violations and reporting them to the compliance officer.

  7. Taking no retaliatory action against employee reporting, a known or suspected violation.

 

  • Supervisory

  1. Provide program supervision to maintenance worker(s) and maintenance aide(s).

  2. Provide on the job training to maintenance staff.

 

  • Program Related

  1. Responsible for painting and performing structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings.

  2. Responsible for the supervision of ground maintenance activities such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, and raking and disposing of leaves and refuse.

  3. Responsible for procuring materials, tools, equipment, and supplies at lowest cost consistent with quality and service.

  4. Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications and standards.

  5. Recommend changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.

  6. Analyze and resolve maintenance problems, or assists workers in solving maintenance problems.

  7. Interprets Agency Risk Management policy to enforce safety regulations and serves as a member of Agency Safety Committee.

  8. Assist Director in scheduling of preventive maintenance work related to properties.

  9. Foster a cooperative working relationship with Agency staff, subcontractors, and vendors while coordinating maintenance activities.

  10. Consult with Director regarding compliance with OSHA and other regulatory bodies.

  11. Supervise and assign activities of Property Management Work/Equipment Requests according to priority.

  12. Keep inventory of supplies at minimum essential levels.

  13. Establish and maintain a maintenance workshop with necessary materials and equipment.

  14. Assist Director with maintaining inventory control of all tangible property.
