WHAT IS RESTORATIVE PRACTICES?

Restorative Practices is an emerging social science that studies the science of relationships and community.

Individuals interested in improving connectedness in any setting, such as, personal relationships, professional workplaces, academic settings, community groups, camps, recreation and leisure clubs, among others, are invited to attend this training to learn more.

As a participant you will learn how to:

• Examine the influence you have in your relationships

• Use practical strategies for connecting with others in healthy ways

• Facilitate circles effectively (classrooms, staff meetings, residence hall meetings, families, etc.) to foster and strengthen a sense of community in your setting

• Engage in prosocial conflict resolution

THIS FREE TRAINING is made possible by grant funding from Mother Cabrini Health Foundation and training provided by Catholic Charites Oneida/Madison County.

Seats are limited and you must register attend. Each training will take place from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

All registered attendees receive:

  • Training Materials

  • A copy of the following books: The Restorative Practices Handbook: for Teachers, Disciplinarians and Administrators AND Restorative Circles in Schools: A Practical Guide for Educators

  • Breakfast, Lunch, & Snack (please notify us of any food allergies)

Facilitator: Marianne Conte began working in human services over 20 years ago. She has a graduate certificate in Restorative Practices from the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP) and has been a trainer of the IIRP’s two-day Basic Restorative Practices and Using Circles Effectively curriculum since 2018. She will be facilitating a modified version of that curriculum to fit into one day.
